Biocidal product route

Film-forming amine biocide for industrial cooling-water systems

In addition to the corrosion inhibitor, MexTech supplies a separate film-forming amine biocide for selected industrial applications where biofilm and biological fouling are critical.

The product combines surface-focused film formation with a biocidal function. The exact target organisms, system types, water qualities, dose, contact time and discharge conditions are determined solely by the current country-specific authorisation and product label.

Continuous ingress of organisms and nutrients

A biocide may underperform because of high demand, incorrect dosing, a poor injection point or insufficient contact with the biofilm.

Frequently asked questions

Technical choices require system context

These answers provide initial direction. The final approach follows from the installation data and product documentation.

Does a low count in a water sample prove there is no biofilm?

No. A bulk-water sample mainly shows what is present in the water; attached biofilm on surfaces may therefore be underestimated.

Is periodically dosing a large amount of extra biocide always the best solution?

No. Product authorisation, contact time, system demand, biofilm protection, injection point and safety determine the right strategy. Cleaning and hydraulics can be just as important.

What is the difference between MexProtect™ and the film-forming amine biocide?

MexProtect™ is a corrosion inhibitor without a biocidal claim. The separate biocide has its own authorisation, label and defined field of use.
